Public Health, Awareness and Prevention promote and protect the health of communities and individuals. The recommendations provide practices that help make Maryland a safer place to live and play.
The research and practice are developed through collaborative efforts with numerous national, state, and local partners applying critical elements for injury prevention for all age groups. From installing car seats for our children to providing information for preventing falls among the elderly, every generation benefits from informed practices.
By creating and disseminating research, practice, educational programs, public service announcements, posters, printed materials, and websites, we aim to prevent injuries and ensure everyone in Maryland is better prepared to respond to injuries and illnesses when they happen.
