Currently MIEMSS makes available to the EMS Community opportunities for funding equipment, training and EMS–related programs. These grants are both "pass-through" as well as direct. All grant requests should be made through the MIEMSS’ Regional Councils.

Maryland EMS Naloxone Grant Program
The Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS), in conjunction with the Maryland Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Administration, is pleased to announce funding to provide compensation to Maryland’s jurisdictional EMS operational programs for uncompensated naloxone usage. Matching & Hardship Grants for AEDs, Monitor Defibrillators, and Upgrades (Special Funds)
These direct grants are 50% matching funds, or in some cases 100% hardship funds. They are awarded annually, based on the State’s fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Contact your Regional Office for applications.
MIEMSS EMD and ALS Funding (Special Funds)
These educational grants are for Emergency Medical Dispatch training as well as Advance life support training. These grants are for 100% funding and are based on the State’s fiscal year (July1 through June 30). Please contact MIEMSS Regional Offices for applications and additional information.
